How to reach Bomdilla

  • By Air: The nearest airport at Tezpur is located at a distance of about 160 kms from Bomdila. You can hire a taxi or board a bus from here to reach Bomdila.
  • By Train: The nearest railway station is at Rangapara (Assam), located at a distance of about 146 kms from Bomdila. You can either hire a rented car or a taxi from here. There are also daily buses that ply from Rangapara Railway Station to Bomdila.
  • By Road: The town of Bomdila is well connected to Tezpur, Rangapara and Guwahati by state-run buses, jeeps and SUVs. A four-wheel drive like a jeep or SUV is the best way to travel from Tezpur, Rangapara or Guwahati. Depending upon the weather and the road conditions the drive from Tezpur will take about 6 hours. Since the roads are narrow with lots of twists and bends, it is advisable to hire an experienced driver to take you to Bomdila.
  • Note: The best way to explore the town of Bomdila is by hiring a local jeep or SUV.
