Nearly a century old, the Highwinds hotel is almost like a step back in time, to the British Era. Located in the foothills of the evergreen pine forests that surround Shillong, the hotel affords a little slice of nature right in the middle of civilization. Despite being an old property, the entire setup is very well maintained and the little bits that may have been left out all come together and make the place even more charming.

The staff works hard to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests. Smoking on campus is not discouraged and alcohol is not served either. The hotel is located quite close to the Shillong city centre and offers plenty of opportunities for guests to explore, such as, the Lady Hydari Park and the Crinoline Swimming Pool.

Dining

The breakfast is included in the room rent. Dinner is generally served in the rooms.

Room Tip

Since the evenings tend to get a little chilly, the rooms are equipped with room heaters, 24 hours running water and an electric kettle for hot beverages.
