Surrounded by oak forests, the resort is calming, inviting and peaceful.
Experience
A stay in this hotel ensures guests to witness some of the rarest winged species that one would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Green-tailed sunbird, Rufous-gorgeted flycatchers, Scimiter babblers, and Laughing thrushes are just some of the birds
that you can see here.
Rooms
The 30-room hotel offers great views of green oak forests, the Himalayan range, bright blue skies, and birds. Based on availability, the staff guides guests to take rooms on the higher floors for better views, mountain air and ample sunshine. The rooms are well equipped, complete with modern amenities, including mini-bar, tea and coffee maker, complementary wi-fi, 26-inch Samsung LCD television sets, among other services. Perfect for families and business travelers, the resort’s rooms are serene, quiet, clean and spacious. This is nature and serenity at its best and well worth a visit. The bathrooms, equipped with comfortable bathrobes, bath slippers, offer designer toiletries by Salveo Botanicals.
Dining
It’s a treat to dine at Elgin Mount Pandim especially knowing that the Chogyal (King) of Sikkim hosted most of his parties in this mansion entertaining his royal guests. The Magnolia Dining Room, with its cozy interiors and a grand piano, which adds to the timeless panache, offers a selection of European and Asian set menus. There is a variety of Indian, Continental, Italian and regional cuisines that’s served here. We love the wood panelling, chandeliers and lithographs, all of them adding to the old world elegance and charm. The outdoor gazebo and garden lawn area at this mansion offers a light menu with a range of snack and drinks. We recommend a cup of Darjeeling tea with snacks with the view of pristine, manicured garden that the resort proudly shows off, and the stunning view of the mountain peaks. Then there’s Tea Lounge and Oak Bar where you can sit and enjoy your evening drink.
